English Language at AS Level is an exciting and challenging course. It explores language as a hugely versatile and fascinating communication tool. There will be many opportunities to analyse spoken and written texts produced by other people and to produce your own writing in a variety of forms, for a range of purposes and audiences. You will investigate how language is related to power, gender and technology; how young children acquire language and how and why language has changed over time.
