During the course students will use photography to record, document and present examples of everyday life, in ordinary and extraordinary circumstances and communicate personal ideas about the world around us, in social and commercial contexts. Students will be introduced to a wide range of photographers past and present, and will have the opportunity to visit London galleries and museums. They will have be given weekly workshops on techniques, digital manipulation and specific materials, which they will then apply to their own work, to build a personal portfolio of work, which is supported by a workbook. Students must reflect on, refine and apply the observations they make with a camera, and determine which tools or techniques are most appropriate in their exploration of ideas.
