Special Needs Awarenes within the Classroom

This short course is suitable for anyone interested in supporting children/students with learning disabilities and difficulties. Support for special learning needs is vitally important in providing equality of opportunity in all educational settings. This course will explore a range of learning needs including dyslexia, autism, sensory impairment and physical disability; how they impact on learning and will demonstrate some straightforward, practical support strategies, with opportunity for some hands-on experience. It is hoped that this short 'taster' will prompt interest for further study. This short course is for anyone that is working with or studying to work with children, or for anyone that has an interest.
