There are over 300 different careers within the NHS and over 150 in social care. The Health and Social Care course will lay the foundations for a career in the health or care sectors. The emphasis of the course is on applying theory in practice and students studying the course develop not only academic skills but also practical and personal skills in order to prepare them for Higher Education and employment. Due to the work placement commitments of students studying the BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies) course, no other subject can be studied in combination with this course.
