Arboriculture can be defined as the production and management of trees and shrubs in urban and rural environments where amenity is the primary objective. The Advanced Apprenticeship in Arboriculture is a one year Work-Based Learning course leading to a Level 3 Diploma in Trees and Timber, along with NPTC certificates in Climbing and Rescue, Aerial Cutting of Trees using a Chainsaw, Aerial Tree Pruning and Aerial Tree Rigging. The Advanced Apprenticeship is ideal for those wishing to progress their career in Arboriculture as a supervisor or chargehand and would suit someone with a basic understanding of the industry. Study will include; business management, surveying, teamwork and health and safety alongside the practical aspects. Level 2 Functional skills in Maths and English are available if required.
