The Level 3 Graphic Design Diploma will enable you to gain a breadth of knowledge and experience in essential graphic design principles and techniques within the context of the wider art and design world. You will study six units over the two years. These will explore the use of digital technology in graphic design branding and corporate design design for advertising illustration in graphic design graphic design history and realising outcomes for specialist briefs. These units will be delivered through a wide range of graphic design-based assignment briefs that aim to link to the professional world of graphic design. Throughout these briefs you will explore areas such as understanding the use of text and image in graphic design products using a range of digital software such as Photoshop and Illustrator understanding different types of illustration and producing illustrations based on clients? needs producing a range of advertising visuals presenting to clients creating logos exploring typography understanding key trends and movements in graphic design history and understanding how to produce a final outcome. The outcomes that you produce may include music festival posters magazine spread illustrations charity campaigns company logos t-shirts book covers and icons. Throughout the course you will develop key skills in not only digital graphic design packages but also in photography mixed media work and drawing. The course is completely coursework-based and will enable you to produce a graphic design-based portfolio covering a broad range of projects and techniques. The course is equivalent to one A level.
