We strive to deliver the course in a way which helps students interpret the physical world around them and inspires them to pursue the big questions. The physics course provides a seamless transition to A Level from GCSE and provides a route to university courses in physics and other subjects in which physics is a key component. What is the outline of the course content? Over the 2 years, students will cover the following topics: measurements and their errors; particles and radiation; waves; mechanics and materials; electricity; further mechanics and thermal physics; fields and their consequences; nuclear physics; engineering physics What key skills will I learn? Physics is fundamentally an experimental subject. This course provides numerous opportunities to use practical experiences to link theory to reality. It also equips students with the essential practical skills they need. Careers in Physics: More than 50% of all qualified physicists work in Research and Development, Engineering, and Information Technology. Some work on problems at the frontiers of knowledge; others tackle the challenging problems which arise in the application of physics to industrial and engineering problems.
