Continuing Computing Gently

This course is designed to progress your basic computing skills and increase your confidence to ensure you feel competent and able to use a computer to search the internet, manage an email account and produce basic documents. You will build on the knowledge already learned either from previous experience or from attending the beginners course. You will become more confident when using your home P.C. Continuing Computing Very Gently will allow you to develop your skills using Microsoft Word. You will learn: - How to add pictures and shapes, using Clipart and images downloaded from the internet - How to incorporate flow charts and graphs into your documents You will also learn how to download pictures from a camera and use these images to create cards, invitation, etc using Microsoft Publisher. You will be introduced to Microsoft Excel and learn how to set up simple spreadsheets. A College Certificate will be awarded on request.The sessions are delivered in an informal, friendly environment and the programme is taught using a range of demonstrations and lectures. Handouts are provided to assist you further and to encourage you to practice your new skills at home or in the office. Within the sessions you will be encouraged to discuss your concerns, and solutions will be sought to meet your individual needs.Students can progress to other computing courses held at the college.
