This course is for adults of any age who live, temporarily or permanently, in this country and do not have English as a first language. This is a 10 week course which leads to an Entry Level 2 ESOL exam in Reading. The lessons will be 2¾ hours on two days a week. Courses will not run on Bank Holidays or Staff Development days. This course will cover the following topics:• Leisure activities• Health• Food and drink• Holidays• Jobs• Homes • Travel and transport • Places to stay / visiting places• Read a variety of texts including: e-mails, letters, leaflets, short stories and narratives

You can use the College website (e-study) to help you learn English using our exercises, games and quizzes for your level. There will be exam practice during the course to help you prepare for the reading exam. You will also have an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) with your own learning targets to help you focus on parts of reading which you find particularly difficult. If the College cancels courses, the fees you paid will be refunded. If you cancel your course, you will get a refund but you will have to pay an administration fee.
