The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and skills in the care of animals as a base which will allow progression to further learning, qualifications or into work. Much of the course is taught at Brockswood Animal Sanctuary so that students have good opportunity to work alongside animals safely and confidently.You will study a range of topics and units which may include:Assist with maintaining the health and wellbeing of animalsAssist with the movement, handling and accommodation of animalsIntroduction to wildlife and conservationAnimals in the wild and in societyAssist with the handling and restraint of animalsAssist with the preparation and maintenance of animal accommodationSafe and effective working practices in land-based industriesIndustrial experience in land-based industries.
