Duration: 1 year Prepare for work in professional catering in hotels',' restaurants and pubs. This is a hands-on introduction to methods of cooking and basic food hygiene within a real working kitchen. You will be assessed by observation of your skills',' coursework and a portfolio. Functional skills or GCSE English and Maths are a key part of this course. You will need to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier. Entry Requirements: You need four GCSEs at Grades D-G or equivalent',' including Maths and English at D or equivalent. You must have attended the course taster day. Career Options: Progress on to a Level 2 in your chosen area of catering and hospitality.
