This is a mainly practical course introducing you to a variety of skills within painting and decorating; preparation of surfaces, scaffolding, water and oil based painting, basic wall papering and health and safety. You will produce a folder of work to show both practical and theoretical skills on completion of this course. Assessment will include unit tests for both theory and practical plus external examinations. English and maths will be undertaken, either Functional Skills or GCSE dependant on prior achievement and will form a significant part of your timetable. Employability skills will be developed and learners will undertake Work Experience as part of their Study Programme.
