The Level 4 Certificate is a first-stage teaching qualification, which has a teaching practice requirement and is therefore suitable for those that have some experience of delivering in education and training. The course provides a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer. The qualification (36 credits) covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sectors, including understanding roles and responsibilities, planning to meet the needs of individuals, assessment and resources. This course is not suitable if you wish to teach children in schools (pre 16). Prospective learners must be over 19, be able to evidence an English GCSE Grade C or equivalent, be qualified to Level 3 and have vocational experience in the subject they will be delivering, have access to 30 hours teaching practice, and be accepted via interview.
