What will I do on this A Level? This subject will offer an exciting opportunity to embrace textile, fashion and design, looking at the design industry from an artist's perspective. It will introduce you to the contemporary approach of the industry and encourage you to flourish as a potential textile designer, looking at a variety of techniques. You will also cover a printing unit, looking at techniques such as Shibori and screen printing. You will combine your practical work with theory, research and presentation skills, enabling you to develop fully as a budding designer. How will I be assessed? You will do a controlled assessment in May (40% of your final marks), as well as submitting portfolio work. What options do I have after completing this A Level? Weston College's successful Art and Design, UAL Foundation Diploma, followed by arts at university or one of our degrees offered in partnership with Bath Spa University at Weston College A Foundation Degree within the arts Degrees in fashion design and marketing, textiles, buying and merchandising Careers in textile design, or related areas such as fashion design, theatre costume, interior design, textile conservation, fashion journalism or teaching art and design.
