This is for candidates who wish to progress to subject specific literacy teacher education programmes.This qualification allows you to learn develop and practise the essential skills in Literacy required for entry to specialist teaching qualifications. The qualifications will provide evidence achievement of the entry criteria for subject specific literacy teacher education programmes. The entry criteria were developed by Lifelong Learning UK (2010) to ensure that trainee teachers have an appropriate level of personal skills in English to benefit from a subject specific teacher training programme.You should already hold a level 2 qualification in the relevant specialism in order to complete the qualification satisfactorily. Candidates without evidence of formal qualifications must demonstrate adequate prior knowledge and experience to ensure they have the potential to gain the qualifications.A teaching placement is not required for the Award
