This qualification aims to raise your awareness of the different types of medicine and how they are used, the procedures for obtaining, using, storing and disposing of medicines as well as the administration of medication, the legislation and audit processes related to medication and the issues of responsibility and accountability when dealing with medicines. There are 4 mandatory units that are required to be successfully completed and they are: -Understand medication and prescriptions -Supply, storage and disposal of medication -Understand the requirements for the safe administration of medication -Record-keeping and audit processes for medication administration and storage Learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units.Through guided learning using the student support material, one-to-one sessions with the tutor, group tutorials and independent study.Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to: -NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care -NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care -Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Dementia Care
