This is a 35 week course which uses Reason 8 to compose music electronically. It is part of a discrete curriculum for Adults with Learning Difficulties. Learners should have an interest in making their own music. The course is a learning journey over three terms during which you should make progress with your skills to use the computer software. By term three you should have produced a short piece or some pieces of music which can be burnt onto a CD. You will be supported to design and print a cover for your CD. Course Goals Goal 1Term 1: To identify a favourite sound and the instrument that makes that sound. Term 2: To be able to select 3 instruments and describe the sounds they make. Term 3: To be able to combine 3 instruments and demonstrate how to preview each sound. Goal 2 Term 1To identify 2 main differences between 2 genres of music. Term 2: To demonstrate how to open a sound recording on the computer. Term 3: To demonstrate how to edit the opened sound application on a computer. Goal 3 Term 1: To demonstrate how to log on to a Computer to load the software. Term 2: To make a recording of a piece of sound or voice.Term3: To burn your recording to a CD and design a cover. Goal 4: To record your progress throughout the course.
