Jewellery - metal clay - free form - introduction

Make a series of wearable items that show an understanding of design, skill and individuality. As a new learner to free form work you will gain skills in research, learn the importance of observation and understand why a sketch book is an essential part of the design process. To create your unique pendant, ring or earrings you will learn how to create your own unique mould, understand how to manipulate and texture your clay, fire and finish your chosen items.

Entry requirements

A small charge is included in the course fee for basic materials and where appropriate a charge has been included for use of specialist equipment. Learners will be expected to purchase all non precious and precious metal items (SILVER CLAY is not included in the cost of this course), non precious and precious cabochons and stones, findings, threads, writing and drawing equipment. This will be discussed with the course tutor and will not be covered in the course materials fee. Please do not purchase anything before your first lesson unless requested to do so. No liability can be accepted for expenses incurred for a course cancelled/altered at short notice.
