Brushstrokes of history: how historical events inspired painters

A look at paintings that depict important historical events or simply reveal fascinating aspects of contemporary society. Including the Arnolfini Portrait through to more modern paintings, like Picasso's Guernica, we will examine the artists' motivation and the background to events portrayed.
