Literature: Three Novellas

Directed by a widely published, prize winning writer, this course will investigate the novella through three examples of the form: Up at the Villa (Somerset Maugham), The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (Muriel Spark), Getting a Life (Helen Simpson). We will discuss the book, focusing on the novela form, point of view and gender.
