This course is aimed at those who prefer vocational training to academic study and those who wish to gain employment by gaining a technical skill and knowledge, but also demonstrate competence in their work role. An Apprenticeship is a vocational, work-based programme that demonstrates competence and knowledge. With a combination of on-the-job training and assessments, and training through an IMI Awards' approved centre, Apprenticeships demonstrate the individual's competence to do a job to a national standard. Knowledge of Materials, Fabrication, Tools and Measuring Devices used in the Automotive Environment; Competency in Diagnosing and Rectifying Light Vehicle Electrical Faults; Competency in Light Vehicle Preparation and Inspection; Competency in Diagnosing and Rectifying Light Vehicle Engine Faults; Knowledge of Diagnosis and Rectification of Light Vehicle Chassis System Faults; Knowledge of Diagnosis and Rectification of Light Vehicle Transmission and Driveline Faults; English and maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects help you develop confidence and are key employability skills that recruiting employers look for. If you have not achieved GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths you will need to continue studying these subjects. We will ensure you have the right lessons and support to improve your English and maths.
