You have recently completed a beginner's course and feel confident to progress onto the next level or you have a very 'rusty' O level or GCSE but you have practiced the language on holiday. The course will cover more of the tenses to develop your language skills and will reinforce your grammar structures while learning new vocabulary and expressions; there will be a strong emphasis on listening and speaking. As the course progresses you will be focusing more on authentic speaking and listening activities to improve your efficiency in real situations. You will be consolidating the basic structures of the language to improve your writing accuracy. Topics Revision of Beginner topics Extra vocab & expressions on daily routine, lifestyle and public transport (trains, buses, planes). Choosing food from a restaurant menu, means of payment, hobbies, sport & holiday. Talking about your job. Parts of the body and illnesses. Extra topics depending on learning pace. Grammar structures Reinforcement and extension of present tense, including reflexive verbs, direct and indirect object pronouns, perfect tense, near future, talking about what has just happened, possessives, interrogative adjectives, instructions using the imperative.

Name: Spanish Lower Intermediate Qualification title: Non regulated provision, Entry Level, Other Languages, Literature and Culture Qualification type: Assessment The course is structured over 25 sessions of 2 hours (term time only) with class sizes of 10-16 students. The 4 language skills will be practiced (listening, speaking, reading and writing), with an emphasis on speaking and listening. Reading and writing practiced more as part of homework / independent learning activities. A minimum of 2 hours of independent learning / homework is recommended. This may include: online activities from a particular website, learning new vocabulary, writing activities related to a grammar point, a tense or a new topic learnt in class.
