Acquire basic first aid skills for the management of a sick or injured child (up to about 8 years old), including care of the unconscious child, resuscitation, choking, control of bleeding, and head injuries. Includes a 6-hour first aid certificate. By the end of the course you will: Know more about the management of a sick/injured child Be able to demonstrate how to deal with a situation involving anaphylactic shock Show how to treat a child suffering from an asthma attack Have a clearer knowledge of how to treat burns/scalds Know what to do if a child is choking Know how to treat a head injury Observe if a child is suffering from febrile convulsions Be able to demonstrate what to do if you suspect a child has meningitis No previous experience is required. text17 This course includes a 6-hour First Aid certificate for those who achieve the pass mark. text19
