Website Design & Creation - Introduction

This course is designed to introduce you to the skills needed to create webpages from scratch. So if you are an aspiring Web Designer or just want to promote yourself or your interests using a website, then this is the course you will need. You will use Adobe Dreamweaver CC, one of the most popular web design packages used by many professionals to create commercial websites. This 10 week course introduces you to the principles of web design as well as using the basic technical skills to get started with producing a website. The topics covered are: • The principles of web design • Domain names and hosting (uploading) a website • An introduction to the NEW HTML 5 programming language • Introduction to Dreamweaver and it's environment • Layout and create a simple web page structure • Add images and text to a webpage • Create links to email and linking web pages • Learn how to style a webpage in CSS (styling language) • Using the home page as a template • Making your first website The last 3 weeks of the course will include Workshop time so that you can work individually with tutor support on your own project.
