Dyeing for Knitters, Weavers and Spinners.

This course will enable students to experiment with a variety of dyeing techniques, tie dyeing, dip and spot dyeing hanks of yarn, pieces of knitting or rovings. Create unique yarn and show it off on beautifully patterned socks , scarves, hats and woven cloth. Ever wondered how those colourful, self patterning sock yarns are made? Come along and find out! Machine and hand knitters, spinners and weavers are all welcome. Knitting machines, needles and other specialist equipment is available. All levels welcome.

Entry requirements

Some basic material will be provided but please bring lots of yarn that you would like to use during the class. I recommend wool as it is a great and easy fiber to work with and it usually gives the best results.
