CELTA is for those with little or no experience of English Language Teaching who would like to enter the field of ELT either in this country or abroad. This qualification is recognised as an initial teacher training both in the UK and internationally. Once you have the CELTA and at least 2 years EFL teaching experience, you can be considered for progression onto the DELTA course. What will I Study: An analysis of English language systems and skills. Classroom management and lesson planning. Presentation and practice of new language. Teaching the skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing. Assessment, course planning and evaluation. Working in the context of adult and further education What can I do after the course: This forms part of the Diploma in Teaching English (ESOL) in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTE(E)LLS) and DTLLS course which can lead to QTLS.
