Yoga - Beginners

Yoga is an ancient Indian discipline which aspires to union of body, mind and spirit.The aim of the course is to teach a range of basic yoga postures and practices, designed to promote strength, flexibility, mobility, balance and relaxation.Our courses build on past learning, week by week, to develop new abilities. You will find your progress easier if you attend every lesson.

Entry requirements

Please bring a non-slip yoga mat. (An exercise mat / camping mat will do to start with).Wear comfortable clothing, which allows a full range of movement e.g. raising the arms above the head and bending over / crouching down to touch the toes. Yoga is practised barefoot.Layers are recommended including some warm clothes and a small blanket or throw for the relaxation session.A bottle of drinking water is advisable, particularly in warm weather. Don't forget to bring a pen and your reading glasses (if you wear them).Later in the course you may wish to buy a yoga block or yoga strap (an old tie will do to start with).
