Portraits - How to Capture a Likeness - Half Day

During this half day workshop we will cover a variety of ways to help with drawing the portrait more accurately to achieve a good likeness. We will cover the proportions of the face and features and, choosing and mixing correct skin colours for coloured drawings and paintings. How to start a portrait and the steps to follow.The importance of backgrounds to keep the image 3 dimensional.

Drawing pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener. Paper, A4 or larger. Paints if you intend to paint and paper or other support. Please contact tutor at adultlearning@surreycc.gov.uk if you are unsure about painting materials. Beginners and those with no previous painting experience should focus on drawing.
