This course is about building the learner's confidence in using maths by applying it to relevant, realistic situations, and using it to solve problems through individual or group mosaic projects.During this course you will have the opportunity to work towards a national qualification designed to recognise progress towards independence, support learners develop the knowledge they need to overcome barriers due to learning difficulties or disabilities.You will: • Use maths as an integral part of classroom activities• Recognise a simple pattern or relationship.• Recognise and make repeating patterns• Count, order, add and subtract numbers • Read and write the numbers involved. • Use everyday language to describe properties and positions of 3-D and 2-D shapes. • Measure, order and sort objects.• Use tools and equipment in a safe manner.• Practise cleaning tools and equipment and storing them safely.• Apply ICT, number, communication, reading and writing skills to projects and displays.
