We will study the gothic hand - suitable for producing Festive Cards. Using calligraphic dip pens we will start with the lower case moving on to capital letters. The use of colour and layout will be included as well as the use of gold to create attractive highlights to your work.

Calligraphy can get messy - so wearing old clothes is recommended.Learners will need to bring to the course a round handled pen holder, nib size No 2 and 3, a reservoir (clips over back of nib to hold ink), an H pencil, ruler, A3 layout pad (but learners may purchase paper from the tutor at cost price), black non-waterproof ink (Winsor & Newton with the dragon on the box -not the Spider, or Higgins or Quink are good). Scissors and glue stick, Kitchen towel.
