A Day of Feltmaking

This course will expain the basics of feltmaking and you will make something lovely take home. You will learn how to use wool to create colourful textile pieces with pictures and patterns to your own design. The textile piece you create during the day could be later developed to produce three-dimensional products such as hats, bags or scarves or could be displayed as a wall hanging or cushion cover., , By the end of the course you should be able to:, - have a good understanding of the processes involved in feltmaking , - know the materials and equipment required to make felt , - experiment with techniques to produce their own artwork, - be familiar with the work of contemporary and traditional craftspeople, , There is no qualification for this course., , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. For those who would like to try the beautiful art of batik.

Entry requirements

Basic materials will be provided, some additional materials will be available to buy from the tutor. You will need to bring pen and pencils, scissors, needles and thread and a notebook. A digital camera would be useful, if you have one already. Please bring a packed lunch.
