The course is for people who wish to learn more about CBT. It is a form of talking therapy that combines cognitive therapy and behavior therapy. It aims to help you apply these techniques to everyday situations. It would be suitable for a complete beginner who wants a different way of approaching the stresses and strains of modern life. This course is designed to help you develop your knowledge of CBT and is not a replacement for professional therapy It is an introduction to learn how you think about the things going on in your life - your thoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes (your cognitive processes) - and how this impacts on the way you behave and deal with emotional problems. It then looks at how you can change any negative patterns of thinking or behaviour that may be causing you difficulties. In turn this can change the way you feel. These techniques can then be applied to any stressful situation such as workplace or exam stress.
