This course will enable you to learn new or develop existing ICT skills and gain a qualification at either Entry Level 2 or Entry Level 3.Dependent on the level you are working at, the course may include the following subject areas: Information security Internet E-mail using Microsoft Outlook Word processing using Microsoft Word Spreadsheets using Microsoft ExcelA variety of learning activities will be used including tutor demonstration, individual and group exercise, discussion, practical demonstration and work based scenarios. You will also work through activity sheets and other resources designed to support the development of skills in each of the areas.You will develop a personal learning plan with your tutor based on the results of initial assessment of your current skills which will allow you to work towards the level most suitable for you. As a result, there will be a mix of full class teaching and periods of individual activity as learners in the class work on their own areas of need.To ensure you get the most out of your learning and to help you prepare for the assessments, it would be useful for you to be able to practise these skills between classes.This is a course leading to a qualification, and the cost of it is subsidised by public funding. You will be required to complete all of the necessary coursework/assignments by the given deadlines.  You do not need any previous qualification in ICT to do this course.  It is suitable for learners who have little experience of using a computer.It will be useful to have access to a computer outside the sessions with the internet and Microsoft Office. The library has computers that can be booked if you do not have access to one at home. We are currently upgrading our computer software: please ask at your enrolment session if you would like to know which operating system and version of Microsoft Office is in use at your local centre.A good knowledge and use of English language at Level 1 is required for this c
