In your class you will: Revise the basics of maths including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and using multiplication tables Use metric measures - millimetres, centimetres, metres, grams, kilograms, millilitres and litres Work on fractions, decimals and percentages Develop data handling skills including averages, drawing graphs and charts Work on problem solving skills Complete classroom and homework activities to prepare you for your assessmentThis is a course leading to a qualification. This course is paid for by public funding and you will be required to complete City and Guilds Maths Assessments. This course is for you if: You want to develop and improve your skills and gain a qualification You want to attend a small, friendly class and work at your own pace and level You want to be more confident using Maths to do familiar tasks in a practical way You can attend every week and complete home study tasks between sessionsYou do not need any previous experience or qualifications in Maths to attend this course.You will be expected to attend regularly from the first session and complete any homework given. If you do not attend you may be withdrawn from the course. When you have completed your Maths Functional Skills qualification you may be able to progress to a further qualification or an English course. When you have completed a Level 2 Maths Functional Skills qualification you may choose to do a GCSE in Maths.Other courses may be offered by Skills & Learning or other local providers.
