You will be appointed an assessor and they will visit you in the workplace to carry out observations of your work. Throughout the course you will study and demonstrate an understanding of the following areas of the sector. - Child Development - Safeguarding the Welfare of Children - Health and Safety - Behaviour - Relationships - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion You will also study units on schools as organisations, team practice and supported learning activities. If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
