Would you like to paint portraits? This course for Beginners & Improvers and will equip you with the techniques and knowledge to help you to develop your confidence and skill in painting Portraits with Acrylics. You will learn the basics of Portrait Painting through a series of explorative exercises and we will cover the formal elements of Art to develop an understanding of the use of line, shape, form, colour, tone and texture when portrait painting. There will be an element of drawing to help ensure that sketched outlines are accurate in shape and proportion in preparation for painting. We will also cover colour mixing and the importance of the use of tone and texture when painting. In addition to this we will take inspiration from a number of recognised portrait artists and their different painting styles. Sessions will be taught through demonstrations, class discussion and one to one support. The aim of the course is to develop your confidence in painting portraits whilst having fun unleashing your creativity!
