The learner benefits from gaining knowledge of subjects such as Nutrition, Applied Psychology and Sociology, Physiological Disorders, Public Health, Caring for Individuals with Additional Needs and Infection Prevention and Control. The Personal and Professional Development Unit enables learners to understand the learning process enhancing skills to plan, monitor and reflect on their professional development. Learners are enabled to investigate and gain an understanding of health or social care provision. Learners also complete 50 hours work experience within this unit. Research Methods develops learners' understanding of research and ethical issues. Different research methodologies are explored and learners conduct their own research evaluating the results. Learners will have the opportunity to develop their 'employability' skills, combined with Literacy, Numeracy and/or ICT Skills whilst on the course.
