You will use a variety of materials and techniques such as papier-mâché and printing. Creativity and imagination are key to learning through these activities. These carefully selected crafts will not only stimulate development of cognitive and physical skills, but will also boost self esteem.

Name: Art Techniques: SL Qualification title: Non regulated Community Learning provision, Foundations for Learning and Life Qualification type: Assessment Practical tasks, demonstrations, group discussion, question and answer sessions Each project starts with a demonstration; you will then practice each technique in class. Online research is included to stimulate ideas and research the process and history of each technique. Observation and other skills will be introduced initially through 'directed' projects, students will then be encouraged to develop their own ideas and responses, and experience a variety of materials available in the studio. There will be individual support and tuition on producing personal designs, as well as collaborations with peers. The use of communication books is encouraged, and sign language used in class for colours. Students will be encouraged to engage in open discussion at the end of each project, and work will be selected and displayed in the College.
