The course allows candidates to learn, develop and practise their personal skills in maths required for entry to specialist teaching qualifications. You will develop your ability to interpret mathematical situations, process problems, analyse mathematical findings and use mathematical communication in different situations including: academic subjects; personal and public life; and vocational contexts. Candidates must achieve 12 credits to complete the qualification successfully; each of the following 2 units of study are worth 6 credits: Unit 306: Using mathematics: personal and public life Unit 307: Using mathematics: professional and vocational contexts You will learn by a mixture of peer and independent study, research and ICT-based work, reading and whole class teaching. You will also have access to the computing resources in the College, including the latest multi-media facilities in the FLEX. At the end of the course, you will be required to complete 2 assessments and submit a portfolio to qualify for the Award.
