This course develops the technological, practical and analytical skills for a range of careers in the music industry. Specifically, it will prepare you for professional work within four key areas:Sound EngineeringStudio and Music ProductionGames Sound and MusicMusic and Sound for Film. This course if for those wishing to pursue a range of careers in the music industry. Set within a professional recording studio and sound production environment, you will work on projects and industry briefs that reflect working practice in the commercial world. Assignments are modelled on activities and processes found in industry. You will use the latest specialised studio production facilities, featuring a full range of Solid State Logic Technology: 48 Channel SSL Duality Console, SSL AWS498, and the SSL Matrix. Each individual workstation also includes an SSL Nucleus and Pro Tools and Logic Pro software. You will learn from a course team of professionals with extensive experience in studio and music production, sound engineering, music and sound for film and multimedia, live and session instrument performance, and musicology. In addition, you will benefit from masterclasses from visiting practitioners, visits to recording studios, record companies, seminars, and music events. Offering lots of support, this course will enable you to develop into a flexible, creative and reflective learner with a range of tangible and transferrable skills, essential to your progression onto university or into employment. The Music Production HND is delivered in partnership between City and Islington College and Islington Music Workshop.
