This Award focuses on developing your research and critical thinking skills, introducing topics such as Crime and Deviance and exploring young people, law and order. It will also use different social science themes to enable you to develop skills in working independently on a project. It is a useful course if you are considering applying for the Access to HE Diploma in Social Science or other related courses. This course has two sessions, the first lasting 5 days (Crime & Deviance: Young People, Law and Order - Work, Plan & Review ) and the second lasting 3 days (Developing & Using Research Skills). Courses are offered on a residential or non-residential basis and take place in the grade 1 listed landscape of Wentworth Castle near Barnsley. Many courses last from 3 to 5 days to provide a short, intensive and enjoyable learning experience.
