Entry to the Uniformed Services NCFE Diploma Level 2

The NCFE Level 2 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services is part of the Cornwall College Military Academy and is designed to prepare potential recruits for entry to the Armed Forces. The course is 16 weeks and runs from January. The programme is portfolio based therefore there are no examinations. All theory and practical assessment will be conducted in the class room or out-doors as suitable. Learners will undertake practical military training and education in order to equip them with the necessary skills to enable them to make decisions on which service to apply for and to prepare them in all respects for initial selection. Alongside the main qualification learners will undertake GCSE or functional skills in English and/or maths dependant on their entry qualifications.

Students are issued with a complete portfolio of their programme which gives full information of the learning outcomes for each individual unit of study. After each practical activity or lesson students write up reflective logs to record what they have learnt and answer specific questions associated with the learning outcomes for that unit. To pass the course a student must provide evidence in their portfolio that they have completed 100% of the learning outcomes and assessment for each unit. Units are graded pass, merit or distinction and students receive an overall grade for completing their course.
