This course is suitable for people who are involved in the storage, handling and application of pesticides. Course Content ? Current legislation ? Interpreting labels and literature ? Selecting and using protective clothing ? Preparing pesticides for use ? Safe storage of pesticides ? Transport and temporary storage of pesticides ? Safe disposal of empty containers, surplus unused pesticides and washings ? Dealing with accidental contamination ? Keeping records ? Environmental factors Learning Outcomes Candidate will be able to: 1) Identify those key aspects of appropriate legislation 2) Identify the precautions necessary to use a product safely 3) Identify, select and understand the maintenance and storage of the correct personal protective equipment 4) Understand the correct procedures for the storage of pesticides 5) Understand the correct procedures for the disposal of empty pesticide containers and packaging 6) Understand the records that must be kept 7) Understand the situations where pesticide application may pose a risk to people or the environment. Course duration 1 day followed by a GOLA multiple choice question paper
