The aim of the qualification is to provide you with an introduction to book-keeping and computerised accounts practices and to process source documents that underpin accurate record keeping. You will also learn the operation of computerised accounts software/packages applied to routine accounting tasks Areas covered at Bookkeeping Level 1 include: - the completion of financial documents such as invoices and credit notes - the recording of cash and credit transactions in books of original entry - preparing bank reconciliation - understanding petty cash systems and trial balances. Areas covered at Computerised Accounts Level 1 include: - being able to create accounts - processing accounting information in respect of the sales and purchase ledger - understanding how to use batch control sheets being able to produce accounting reports such as customer activity reports and supplier details reports
Name: BookKeeping & SAGE Computerised Accounts Level 1 Qualification title: Award in Computerised Accounts (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Bookkeeping is assessed by an examination which lasts for 90 minutes, plus five minutes reading time. The examination paper consists of a number of practical tasks. Sage Computerised Accounts is assessed by a one hour examination (plus five minutes reading time). It will take the form of a scenario in which it is assumed that the candidate is working in an accounts department. The exam will take place in the final week of the course.
