What will I do on this study programme? Ever felt inspired to manage a complex organisation or resort in the UK or abroad? Then this study programme is for you. If you have a passion for making people happy then there has never been a better time to immerse yourself in this exciting and rewarding industry. You will have opportunity to put theory into practice working at Cheltenham races and being among a select few to embark on the exciting Hotel Management Academy with Hilton Hotels. Learning mainly at college, you will take part in work experience, practical activities, projects, case studies and a final 'Dragons Den' style event pitch. The study programme is made up of a number of core and optional units to choose from, including the hospitality and event industry, providing customer service, financial control, principles of supervising customer service, European food, food and drink service, accommodation operations, front office operations, business enterprise, marketing, human resources, events organisation, industry project, alcoholic beverage service, planning and managing an event. Skills in Maths and English will be embedded into your academic/ vocational learning. If you do not have a grade C in Maths and/or English you will attend a discrete GCSE or Functional Skills class as part of your weekly timetable. How will I be assessed? Coursework - that means projects, presentations, case studies and work experience. We'll assess practical cooking modules in the kitchen. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Hospitality management, Business management, Environmental studies, Human resources, Marketing, Foundation Degree or BA (Hons). Job/career opportunities A career as a junior assistant manager in hospitality management or similar A paid management training scheme with a regional or national hotel chain.
