This course is perfect for the serious gardener keen to expand their knowledge and an ideal qualification to start a career in horticulture. You will focus on developing essential horticultural skills that not only offer opportunities for employment, but also provide the foundation for further skills development at Level 3. Units include soil testing, ground preparation, propagation techniques, establishment, care and pruning of plants and the identification of a range of common garden plants, weeds, pests, diseases, disorders and beneficial organisms. You will carry out assessed practicals, plant identification tests and also produce written evidence including risk assessments.
