As an Apprentice you really do get the best of both worlds; you will earn a salary and gain real experience in the workplace with your employer as well as working towards a nationally recognised NVQ and other qualifications. Apprenticeships are suitable for well-motivated people who are focussed and know which career path they want to follow. They offer high quality work-based training as an alternative to full time study. This programme is aimed at people who are employed, or are seeking employment. You will need to be 16 years of age or over. Apprenticeships are available at level 2 and level 3. * Employment, for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with training in the workplace * Assessor visits in the workplace every 3 - 4 weeks * Functional Skills Level 1 or 2 dependent on current qualifications and Apprenticeship level applied for * Employment Rights and Responsibilities The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. Both levels of apprenticeship are achieved with the completion of mandatory units and optional units to the required level, a sample of which have been added below. * Improving Productivity Using IT * Understanding the potential of IT * Developing Personal and Team Effectiveness Using IT * Audio Software * Collaborative Technologies * Computer Security and Privacy * Design Software or Imaging Software * Desktop Publishing Software * IT Communication/IT Software or IT User Fundamentals * Optimise System Performance * Setting Up IT Systems * Specialist Software or Bespoke Software * Spreadsheet, Word Processing, Database & Presentation Software * Using Email * Using Mobile IT Devices * Using the Internet * Website Software
