Improvers/intermediate salsa will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Cuban rhythms and those of Latin America. At this level you will begin to master the essential salsa steps with fluidity and style in a fun, friendly and energetic environment. This course is made up of classes spanning 3 terms. You'll learn a range of techniques that build on your existing skills, whilst giving you an increase in confidence and the opportunity to inject your own personality and natural improvisation into your dance. You will work at a more advanced level, developing the requisite skills and knowledge necessary in order to be able to join 'Intermediate 2' and 'Advanced' study. The course is open to you if you have completed an introduction and beginner level salsa course at Morley College or at another institution. At this improver/intermediate level you should now understand the difference Cuban, LA salsa and Latin Motion movements. You would also have some familiarity with other salsa dance styles. You will be required to execute different combinations knowing the links between steps. You should also have an understanding of the importance of partner hold, leading, following, position and direction.
