Sociology

UPDATED 20160510 08:41:08

An interesting A-level course which allows students to analyse the way society works, gain an understanding of human behaviour and explore answers to questions such as: Do prisons works? Who succeeds in education and why? Who is the typical criminal in society? Sociology is, very simply, the study of society. Sociologists are interested in everything - from the small details of how we form our identity to big-scale problems like crime in society. The course consists of three units, looking at the following questions: -Do things like age and ethnicity still shape our identities? -What has happened to families, and is there a 'right' type? -How can we explain inequality? -How have things like Twitter & Snapchat changed our lives? -Who commits crime and why? Sociology lessons have lots of discussions and debates, group activities, research projects and games and you'll get a complete set of notes for each unit.
