Name: Construction and the Built Environment HNC Level 4 Qualification title: BTEC HNC Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment The assessment of BTEC Higher National qualifications will be at unit level and there will be an overall grade for the certificate. Each unit will be graded pass, merit or distinction. A pass is awarded for the achievement of all outcomes against the specified assessment criteria. Merit and distinction grades are awarded for higher-level achievement, which may be drawn from the higher-level skills. The BTEC Higher National qualification is assessed using a variety of techniques depending on the nature of the unit being studied. In general there is a mixture of 'in course' assignments (some time-constrained) reports, technical presentations, fieldwork and laboratory work. Through work produced on the project units, the learner will be able to incorporate new skills and other attributes gained from the programme.
